| Product: | SPEL for Windows 2.0 with Vision Guide (all versions up to and including 2.2.0) |
| OS: | Windows NT 4.0 |
| Problem: | Vision Guide GUI problems on slower PC's using VGA mode |
Symptoms
The following symptoms have been observed on some
Pentium machines running at 200 MHz or slower that are being used as secondary
development systems with VGA mode.
This problem has not been observed on vision
systems shipped from Epson (minimum PC specifications are Pentium II at 266
MHz).
Causes
The above symptoms are caused by timing problems in
the mouse handling routines for the vision GUI. The problems start happening
after an object is selected by rapidly clicking down on the object and
releasing the mouse. The object is not repainted and the system looses track of
which object is currently selected. This does not happen every time an object
is selected and is usually difficult to repeat.
