| Subject: | Windows NT detects serial mouse at boot up, but there is no serial mouse |
Symptoms
During boot up of Windows NT, you receive a message that
the system has detected a serial mouse, but there is no serial mouse on the
system.
Causes
This can be
caused by a serial device that you have added to the system. The system
thinks it's a mouse. When Windows NT starts, it checks the serial ports
for mice by default.
Remedy
You can
change the BOOT.INI file to ignore serial mice by using the /NoSerialMice
option.
