The ES451S & ES551S Robots are four axis units with AC servo motors for reduced maintenance and harmonic drives for increased speed and reliability. The ES451S has a horizontal reach of 450mm. The ES551S has a horizontal reach of 550mm. Both robots have a standard Z Axis vertical stroke of 170mm with 320mm available as an option. The ES451S robots have a standard (1" x 12" x 1" and back) cycle time of 0.49 seconds and a repeatability of 0.025mm (0.001 in.)! EL653S/EL653C Specifications

The EL653S/EL653C Robots are four axis units with AC servo motors for reduced maintenance and harmonic drives for increased speed and reliability. The EL653S has a horizontal reach of 650mm (hence the name EL653S) and a Z Axis vertical stroke of 340mm. The EL653S robots have a standard (1" x 12" x 1" and back) cycle time of 0.39 seconds and a repeatability of 0.025mm (0.001 in.)! With numbers like these, the EL653S/EL653C robots are the fastest SCARA robots available with a better price/performance ratio of any competitive units. The EL853C Robot is a longer reach Class 10 Clean Robot. It is a four axis unit with AC servo motors for reduced maintenance and harmonic drives for increased speed and reliability. The EL853C has a horizontal reach of 850mm and a Z Axis vertical stroke of 300mm. The EL853C robots have a standard (1" x 12" x 1" and back) cycle time of 0.48 seconds and a repeatability of 0.025mm (0.001 in.)! Repeatability and speed, just try to come close to our capabilities with any other robot and you will find that the EL853C wins time and time again.

Powerful Controls

With our EPSON RC+ Controller with Microsoft Windows NT based graphical user interface for develpment, EPSON has redefined the term easy to use. Many of our customers have experienced significant reductions in development time due to the ease with which our robots can be programmed. With integrated options such as Vision Guide for robot guidance and inspection applications, VB Guide Active X controls, Ethernet I/O, Force Sensing and others, EPSON RC+ is not only easy to use but also flexible in the different applications it helps to solve.

Z-Axis Stroke and Features

The Z-Axis for the EL Robots comes standard with 320mm of stroke. (Clean versions come with 300mm of Z Stroke) The Z-Axis for the ES Robots (ES451S & ES551S) comes standard with 170mm of stroke with an option for 320mm if required. (Clean versions come with 150mm or 300mm of Z stroke.) The Z-axis for all ES/EL Robots includes a brake that engages to hold tooling and payloads in place when servo motor power is removed. A brake release button is easily accessible on top of the axis for quick release and the quill is hollow which allows easy channeling of electrical and pneumatic lines.

Fast Tool Rotation

Cycle time is the name of the game and just moving quickly in the XY plane isn't enough. This is why U Axis (or the tool rotational axis) speed is so important for most applications. The ES and EL U Axis travels a full + 360 degrees and with a top speed of 1687 deg/second is nearly twice as fast as most competition which translates to more parts processed per hour.

Absolute Encoders

All E-Series robots come standard with Absolute Encoders. This means that they don't have to be sent to a home position when first powering the controller up. This can save valuable time during startup each day. Just power the EPSON RC+ controller on, and the ES or EL Robots are ready to begin their work for the day.

Class 10 Clean Room Capable

Clean Room versions of the ES and EL Robots are available. The ES451C and ES552C are the ES Series Clean Room Robots and the EL653C and EL853C are the EL Series Clean Room Robots. These are all class 10 Clean Room versions of the standard ES/EL Robots. The only real feature difference (besides the additional clean room features) difference is that the Z-Axis stroke is 20mm shorter than the standard version of each model. Thus the ES451C and ES551C are available with a 150 or 300mm Z-axis. The EL653C and EL853C come standard with a 300mm Z-Axis. All ES/EL Clean Robots are available at remarkably affordable prices.
